This is my personal rifle.  I hate to sell this one however, realistically, I never use it.  This is a Weatherby Mark V with a custom stock in .257 Weatherby.  It was new this fall.  It is an amazingly flat shooting high caliber rifle.  I shoot the 115 grain Nosler Ballistic tip and zeroed at 300 yards it is 3 ½ inches high at 200 yards and 7 inches low at 400 yards.  Sizzling at over 3400 fps at the muzzle (that is smoking for a 115 grain load) the bullet is still over 2500 fps at 400 yards delivering 3000 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle and still has 2000 foot pounds at 300 yards!  If you want to literally throw a deer to the ground rather than track it, a Weatherby is the only way to go.  I put a brand new Nikon Monarch 6 x 24 x 50 scope with the Bullet Drop Compensator Reticle (top of the line, $649).  I prefer Nikon’s over Leupolds because a lot of my shots are at dusk and Nikon’s are brighter scopes than Leupolds.  I’ve shot 11 rounds through it to sight it in and 1 to turn a coyote inside out so 12 rounds is all it has had down the barrel.
